Mischief 1 Pricing: Cost per Second, per Clip and per Batch

Last updated: 2026-11-04

ClipWhim is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by The Biological Computing Co. (TBC). “Mischief 1” is used only to describe the third-party model ClipWhim runs, accessed via API; the name belongs to its owner.

Mischief 1 pricing is simple at the API level: you pay per second of video, and the rate depends only on resolution. On fal it is $0.005 per second at 480p and $0.01 per second at 720p, so a 5-second clip costs $0.025 or $0.05 (fal). OpenRouter lists the same range, "from $0.005/second" (OpenRouter). This page breaks down the cost per clip, shows what you pay on ClipWhim with credits, and includes a batch cost calculator. To generate right away, use the image-to-video generator.

720p (1280×720)$0.01$0.03$0.05$5.00

Per-second rates from fal and OpenRouter; clip totals are simple multiplication and match Treza Labs' rate card.

A few details worth knowing:

  • fal bills the requested seconds, even though the rendered clip runs a fraction longer (3.0625 s or 5.0625 s) (fal API schema).
  • Treza Labs reports that its 3-second 480p test render was billed exactly $0.015, the listed rate, and that a request without an image is refused before anything renders, so it is not charged.
  • For context, fal lists its standard Wan 2.2 A14B image-to-video endpoint at $0.04 per second at 480p and $0.08 at 720p (fal Wan 2.2). See Mischief 1 vs Wan 2.2 for the full comparison.

Credit pricing on this site

Using the API directly requires a developer account, an API key, and code to upload images and poll for results. On this site you pay with credits instead and use a simple web form. The credit rule is:

1 credit = 1 second of 480p video. 720p uses 2 credits per second. Failed generations are refunded automatically. Starter Pack credits never expire.

Plans and effective cost per clip

These are the plans on our pricing page. The per-clip figures are the plan price divided by the number of credits, times the credits a clip uses.

Per-clip costs are rounded to the nearest cent.

To be transparent: our per-clip price is higher than the raw API rate. The difference pays for hosting, storage of your uploads and results, payment fees, refunds of failed runs, and running the site. If you are a developer generating thousands of clips, calling the API on fal or OpenRouter directly will be cheaper; if you want a no-code tool, credits are the easier option.

How to spend fewer credits

  • Draft at 480p, finish at 720p. A 480p draft costs half as much. Treza Labs describes a similar draft-pass workflow: animate candidate stills cheaply at 480p, then finalize the best one.
  • Test motion with 3-second clips. If the motion works in 3 seconds, render the 5-second version.
  • Fix the first frame first. Most bad results come from a weak source image. See our image-to-video guide.
  • Write specific prompts. Vague prompts lead to more retries. Use the prompt examples.

Is it cheap compared with other models?

Treza Labs called it "the cheapest video model in our catalog by a wide margin", and OpenRouter ranks it first of 27 video models on cost. Keep in mind that it is cheap partly because it does less: no audio, no text-only mode, 16:9 only and at most 5 seconds. See cheaper alternatives if you need those features.
